Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the My Local Drive Mac application and/or Linux Server Setup components for lawful purposes on devices you own or control.
You may not: reverse engineer except where mandatory law allows; rent, snoop on, or redistribute the software as if it were your own product without permission; remove proprietary notices; or use the software to violate others’ rights.
My Local Drive helps you operate a private network drive: Server Setup prepares a spare disk and services on a Linux PC; the Mac app creates/logs in users and mounts a private folder over SMB. You are solely responsible for the Linux host, disks, backups, and who you give accounts to.
When you use My Local Drive on Apple hardware/software you also remain bound by Apple’s applicable terms, including but not limited to:
Nothing in My Local Drive overrides Apple’s rights in macOS, Gatekeeper, notarization, or the App Store. Apple is not a party to this license between you and the My Local Drive publisher and is not responsible for the product’s support or content.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that the product will meet your requirements.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PUBLISHER AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM USE OF My Local Drive — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $0 IF FREE).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher from claims arising out of your misuse of the software, your content, your unauthorized disk operations, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may provide updates that change features or requirements. We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on the product site; material changes may also be surfaced in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted.
This license ends if you breach these Terms. On termination you must stop using and uninstall the software. Sections that by nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) survive termination.
Unless mandatory consumer law in your residence requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the publisher’s principal place of operations, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protections require your local courts.
