HELP ME — full setup guide

Download, install, activate with FAM786, and connect AI from home or anywhere.

⬇ HELP ME for Mac (.dmg) ⬇ Windows agent (.zip)

How HELP ME finds your AI

You do not need to type server addresses. HELP ME and the Windows agent auto-detect whether you are at home or on the internet.

🏠 At home

On the same Wi‑Fi as your AI server, HELP ME connects to your local Ollama automatically — fastest path, no setup.

🌍 Away from home

HELP ME switches to the public AI API at ticktock.space:8443. Create an API key there (Settings → Account → API Keys) and paste it in HELP ME Settings if prompted.

📦 License & downloads

Always uses https://ai.ticktock.space — works from anywhere. Test code FAM786.

1 — Install HELP ME (macOS 14+)

Download HELP-ME.dmg
  1. Open HELP-ME.dmg from Downloads.
  2. Drag HELP ME.app into Applications.
  3. In Finder → Applications, right-click HELP ME.app → Open → Open (required once — Apple Gatekeeper).
  4. Or: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Terminal — remove quarantine:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/HELP ME.app"

2 — Activate with test code FAM786

FAM786
  1. Open HELP ME — the license screen appears on first launch.
  2. Tap Activate with test code.
  3. Enter FAM786 (case-insensitive).
  4. HELP ME stores your license and verifies at https://ai.ticktock.space.

Pro subscription ($100/mo) uses email + password on the same screen after signup.

3 — First-run setup in HELP ME

AI server

Leave Smart route ON in Settings → Models. HELP ME tries home AI first, then public API automatically.

Public API key (travel only)

If you are away from home, add your Open WebUI key from ticktock.space:8443 → Settings → Account → API Keys.

Open a project

File → Open Folder, or ask HELP ME to scaffold a new app. Max mode runs tools automatically.

Continue locally

If the license server is unreachable, tap Continue locally — tools still run on your Mac.

4 — Cursor: Models & API Keys (ticktock OpenAI-compatible API)

Use this when you are away from home. At home, HELP ME and Cursor can use local Ollama automatically — you only need these settings for remote access via Open WebUI.

Step A — Get an API key from Open WebUI

  1. Open ticktock.space:8443 in your browser.
  2. Sign in (or create an account).
  3. Go to SettingsAccountAPI Keys.
  4. Create a key and copy it — you will paste it into Cursor in Step C.

Step B — Open Cursor settings

  1. Open Cursor.
  2. Mac: Cursor → Settings… or press ⌘,. Windows/Linux: File → Preferences → Settings or Ctrl+,.
  3. In the left sidebar, open Models (sometimes labeled Models / API Keys).

Step C — Fill OpenAI fields (mirror Cursor UI)

Match each row below to the field name shown in Cursor’s Models panel.

Cursor fieldWhat to enter
Override OpenAI Base URL (toggle) Turn ON
OpenAI Base URL (or “Base URL” under OpenAI) https://ticktock.space:8443/api/v1
OpenAI API Key Paste the key from Open WebUI (Step A). Not your Cursor subscription key.
Add model / custom model name qwen2.5-coder:7b (or any model installed on the server — names must match exactly)

Copy-paste base URL:

https://ticktock.space:8443/api/v1

Example model:

qwen2.5-coder:7b

Step D — Leave these blank (unless you have your own keys)

Cursor Pro/Business subscription billing is separate from ticktock’s Open WebUI key — the OpenAI override sends chat requests to your ticktock server instead of OpenAI.

Step E — Test in Cursor

  1. Open a project folder in Cursor.
  2. In the chat model picker, choose qwen2.5-coder:7b (or the model you added).
  3. Send a short prompt (e.g. “Say hello in one line”).
  4. If you see an auth error, re-check the API key and that the base URL ends with /api/v1 (no trailing slash after v1).

5 — Windows agent

Download HELP-ME-Windows.zip
  1. Unzip the folder.
  2. PowerShell: .\install.ps1
  3. Activate: .\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1
  4. Run: python agent.py --image screenshot.png "fix this"
  5. License test: python agent.py --test-license FAM786

Auto-detects home vs public AI — same as Mac HELP ME. Set HELP_ME_API_KEY only when using public AI away from home.

6 — Troubleshooting

“App can’t be opened” (Mac)

Right-click → Open once, or run the xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine command above.

License server unreachable

Check /health at https://ai.ticktock.space. Or tap Continue locally in HELP ME.

AI not responding

At home: confirm your home server is running. Away: confirm API key at ticktock.space:8443.

Invalid test code

Use exactly FAM786. No spaces. Case does not matter.
